The Second World War mechanized America and the construction industry as well. Cranes began to take the place of wooden derricks in day-to-day construction operations and in 1942, Marr Equipment was started to meet New England's demand for quality, large-scale equipment. The fleet of truck cranes acquired was utilized within company operations as well as rented to other construction companies, thus establishing a new line of business for Marr.
Today, Marr Equipment Corporation's fleet has serviced the area's building and heavy construction industry with high quality equipment including lattice-boom cranes, hydraulic cranes, tower cranes and personnel and material hoists, including Champion Elevators. Marr Equipment's operators are among the most qualified and experienced in the region, many having been certified as CCO's, Certified Crane Operators.
